Historical event and human cause of KPAWS-2019 establishment
The foundation of KPAWS is based on the united campaign of raising fund and delivering relief aid to the victims of the catastrophic earthquake of April 25, 2015 (2072 BS) and its aftermath in the Kavrepalanchok district. The contribution of two pioneers Sahakul Khatri and Omprakash Dhodari supported by other prominent Nepalese in the USA Narayan Timalsina, Uddhav Bajgai Shastri, Radhakrishna Deuja, Valakrishna Thapa, and Uddhav Prasad Humagai raised fund of amount $10,133.00 (10,05,042.00 One million five thousand forty-two Nepali Rupees) for the cause. The initial amount collected was transferred to the Kavre branch of Nepal Red Cross Society. That is how the base for the Kavrepalanchok America Welfare Society was founded. Hence, Kavrepalanchok America Welfare Society (KPAWS) is now registered with the State of New York, Office of the Attorney General as a Non-Profit Charity Organization under IRS Section 501 (c)(3).
In the short duration of its formation KPAWS has delivered significant projects of Multiple social causes. Refer to projects section for the detail of the projects. As its motto, With each project KPAWS is able to bring kavreli families in the united states of America closer, either by organizing get togethers or by asking for small donations for the social cause of interest.
